BOXING.
NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. REFEREE AND JUDGES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. Aug. 15. Ninety-three entries have been received for the New Zealand Amateur Boxing Championships, at Palmerston North on August 21, 22 and 23. This will necessitate about eighty-four bouts to decide the championships, and twenty-four of these will be decided on the first night. It is probable that two afternoons will also be required. The New Zealand Boxing Council has appointed Mr Earl Stewart as referee, and an assistant will be appointed at the championships. The North Island judges are: Messrs Bush (Auckland), Fry (Wanganui), Heath (Napier). The South Island judges are: Messrs Paterson (Dunedin), Tall (Invercargill), Johnston (Ashburton).
