RUGBY LEAGUE TOUR.
NEW ZEALANDERS WIN. LAST MATCH OF TOUR. SYDNEY, Aug. 13. The New Zealand Rugby League team played the last match of the Australian tour to-day against a team representing the Universities of Australia. Play in the first half favoured the New Zealanders, the spell ending with the visitors leading by eight points to two. The New Zealanders prevailed for the greater portion of the second half, but just before the finish Universities scored two tries and two goals. The game ended in victory for the New Zealanders by 18 points to 12. The ’Varsity men missed several chances through faulty passing. Broadfoot (Queensland) broke his collarbone. The visitors were guests at a ’Varsity ball to-night. They will sail for New Zealand On Friday. The general opinion is that the team has been very unlucky. However, it completed its itinerary by winning the three last matches in fairly convincing style.
