GENERAL FORECAST. An anti-cyclone of slight intensity is moving on to Ntew Zealand, but a deep depression has developed near Tasmania. Light to moderate southerly winds, veering gradually to westerlies in and south of Cook Strait, and freshening in the south. Seas smooth to moderate,' but rising later in Foveaux Strait.
