TWO MEN SHOT BY BANDIT. ATTEMPTED ROBBERY. •% ' I • SUSPECT DETAINED. ’(United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 14, 11.0 a.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 14. Two men were shot by a bandit who entered the Clyde Junction railway station late last night. The robber demanded the money bags from an officer, who refused and grappled with the intruder. The cierjr, .however, was shot in an arm, and the bandit escaped, nothing being stolen. A passerby endeavoured to intercept the man, but the latter shot him in the stomach, before the eyes of his horrified wife. The victims are James Player, aged 24,' a booking clerk, and William Galloway, aged 2b. A strong cordon has been drawn around the district and a man has been detained.
