GIANT CUNARD LINER.
WILL CARRY GUNS. LONDON, Aug. 13. . The Daily Mail says that if experiments now in hand are successful the giant Cunard liner now being built will consist of three sections. Each will move independently in order that in rough weather the bows and stern may rise on the crests of rollers while the midship sags into the trough, thus minimising the danger of the vessel breaking her back in heavy seas. Provision will bo made for the carrying of quick-firing guns. The hull of the liner is being built on the lines of a warship, with water-tight compartments for protection against the effects of gun attacks.
