NEW ZEALAND SCIENTISTS. ANNUAL CONFERENCE OPENS. Matters of vital importance to the dairy industry of the Dominion were discussed at the second annual conference of the New Zealand Dairy Science Association to-day, when proceedings opened at the Massey Agricultural College. Professor Riddet, director of the Dairy Research Institute, presided. Scientists from various centres throughout the Dominion assembled to discuss the problems of tlie dairy industry, the principal object being an exchange of views and information following the results of the research work conducted in different laboratories of tho Dominion. Numbers of papers were read by delegates. The conference will extend over three days and a report is to be issued to the Press at the conclusion of tho discussions. Tho following is the list of those members of the association who are attending the conference: —Messrs W. H. Udy and W. Williams (New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., Hamilton); Messrs P. 0. Veale and A. D. Collins (Federation of Taranaki Cooperative Dairy Factories, Hawera); Mr R. L. Andrew (Dominion Laboratory, Wellington); Mr F. J. T. Grigg (Government Laboratory, Christchurch) : Mr E. H. Famer (Glaxo Laboratories, Hamilton); Mr W. R. Mummery (New Zealand Casein Co., Aramoho); Mr D. Sandys Urnsch (Sugar of Milk Casein Co., Edendale South); Mr H. It. Whitehead, Dr. F. W. McDowall, and Mr L. A. Whelan (Dairy Research Institute, Massey College); Mr L. T. Briggs (Gunson Research Scholar) and Messrs W. C. Neil and W. L. Barr (Massey College). Members are also present from all dairy laboratories in the Dominion.
