The Mayor (Mr A. J. Graham) returned from Ohakune by the Main Trunk express this morning. , Constable A. B. Collinge, ofWellington, who has been transferred to tne Palmerston North police force, commenced his duties yesterday. A cable message has been received in Dunedin from Melbourne announcing the acceptance by Rev. W. Allen Stevely of the call forwarded to 11 from First Church, Dunedin. He is tsxpected to arrive at Dunedin about June 18. Sir Philip Game, the new Governor of New South Wales, and Lady Game, together with their two sons and daughter and suite were among 1 passengers on the Moldavia, arrived at Fremantle yesterday non London. It was stated in error yesterday tha Mr J. Knight had been granted leave of absence by the general committee o the Manawatu A. and P. Association to visit Honolulu. The gentleman referred to was Mr R. D. Knight, the wellknown settler of Longburn. The death occurred at Te llapa, Hamilton, of Mr Frederick Henwood, at the age of 75 years. Mr bienwood was born at New Plymouth, Ins parents being the late Mr and Mrs William Henwood, who came from Cornwall and were among the pioneer settlers of Taranaki. Mr Henwood was a carpenter as a young man, and was employed on building bridges in the Taranaki and Manawatu districts.
