CHEQUE FOR HOSPITAL.
BOARD RECEIVES £SOO. Being the proceeds of a legacy bequeathed to the institution by the late Mrs Cyrus Smith, formerly of Palmerstoon North, a cheque for was received by the Painierston North Hospital Board yesterday. Mr J. A. Nash. M.P., suggested that, as in other hospitals, a bequests board be placed in the hospital, to be an incentive to others, and to commemorate past gifts. Bequests should be accepted with mo r e than the formal vote of thanks which was passed. Mr A. E. Hansford agreed, and on his suggestion the board decided to obtain information concerning all who had contributed amounts of more than £SO to the institution, with a view to giving effect to the proposal made by Mr Nash. The managing-secretary (Mr A. J. Phillipps) pointed out that there would be difficulty in searchi’— the records for complete information concerning early bequests.
