TONS OF LIPSTICK.
Germany imported last year 524 tons of lipsticu. The cost of colouring the lips of German women, carmine, terracotta or magenta, according to taste, was £850,0U0. Lipsticks are manufactured in Germany and are so good that thousands of pounds’ worth are exported to England. It may, therefore, be assumed that the actual cost of keeping red the lips of the women of Germany is in the neighbourhood of £500,000.
