HOPEFUL STATE. COMPARISON WITH AMERICA. MR WALTER CITRINE’S VIEW. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). Received May 20, 11.0 p.m. FREMANTLE, May 19. Mr Walter Citrine, general secretary of the English Trades Union Congress, arrived from London to-day. Mr Citrine said in an interview that more people were employed in Britain’s industries to-day than in_l9l3. Germany and the United States, added Mr Citrine, had a more serious unemployment problem than England.
