EMPIRE TRADE.
WIDENING OPPORTUNITIES. Received May 17, 2.10 p.m. MONTREAL, May 16. For presentation to the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire in London this month, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce has adopted resolutions leading toward the stimulation and widening of industrial and trade opportunities within the Empire, and recommending that at the forthcoming Imperial Economic Conference in the autumn the Government should appoint a commission to inquire into Empire resources, markets and other factors entering into Empire trade; also, that the commission should be retained as a permanent advisory body. Other resolutions recommend more frequent visits to the Dominions cf business men of consequence throughout the Empire, and the placing before members of information concerning opEortunities for the establishment cf ranch industries and warehouses.
