“SOMETHING BLUE.”
QUEEN MARY GOES SHOPPING. At the British Industries' Fair, opened recently in London, Queen Mary and Princess Mary and the Duke of York, set a good example by making many purchases. They spent over £IOO altogether. The Queen's first purchase was a quantity of blue iridescent glassware for the table. Most of her purchases were in her favourite colour of blue, and it was noticeable that whatever stall she visited she went almost directly to articles of this colour. The Duke bought a dozen children's handbags, one of which he told the assistant was for Pri V ess Elizabeth. Favourite among the Queen's purchases were handbags of almost every kind. She bought more than three dozen bags, including snatch-proof bags designed to foil thieves, silk bap with scarves to match in various colours, and little bags for children.
