The following are the acceptances and heats for tho meeting to be hold on the Sportsground on Wednesday : First Hurdles. —Ist heat: Nanette 4yds, Miss Australia 7, Survivor 8, Nancy 10, Peggy’s Pride 15. Second heat: Old Tom 2yds, Gold Duet 5, Glen Belle 8, Kiltie 10, Tea Bell 11, In this event Nanette is meeting Old Tom on 4yds better terms than at last handicapping, while Gold Dust is meeting Old Tom on a 3yds bettor mark. Miss Australia is nicely placed on 7yds and if she has schooled well this race should be easy for her. Survivor and Glen Belle on Byds are coming back to tho back markers and on previous form Glen Bello is preferred. Nancy and Kiltie on 10yds aro distincf possibilities with Nancy preferred. Tea Bell on 11yds is luxuriously handicapped, but she has been off the scene some time so may require a few races. Peggy’s Pride on tho limit will set a merry pace provided he can jump. Dogs in form and favourably handicapped appear to bo Nancy, Miss Australia, Glen Belle and Old Tom.

President’s Handicap, 150yds. —First heat: Peter Piper 6yds, Glen Fern 8, Parfait Amour 10, Call Boy 12, Sanette 13, Black Mint 15. Second heat: Miss Australia 6yds, Hermes 10, King Cole 12. Kiltie 12, Goldmine 14jd, Giggles 17. Third heat: Gold Dust 6yds, Caytrip 9, D.U.D. 12, Stage Girl 12, Peggy’s Pride 13, Katinka 15. These three heats should provide thrilling contests. Of those on tho 6yd mark Gold Dust is preferred, he having been galloping well on the flat of late. Of those between 8 and 10yds Glen Fern, who recently won a double, roads best. Caytrip did not race well at the last mooting, boing light in condition, while Hermes, from Christchurch, may be a surprise in store. Tho five dogs on the 12yd mark include King Cole, winner of the big race at tho last meeting, D.C.L., winner of the Dillington Cup, and Kiltie a recent good winner over hurdles. Of these, D.C.L. is preferred. Of those on tho 13yds to tho limit mark throe are winners, Ivatinka, Peggy’s Pride and Black Mint. Sanetto on tho 13yd mark would bo a. distinct possibility were she fit and well. She had a strained shoulder muscle last week and was eased up and may be short of a couple of gallops. Ivatinka can hardly he ready which remark applies also to Goldmine, who will have his first start in public. Giggles has gono off and may be held by Black Mint and Peggy's Pride. Should they survive their feats, the following may bo found contesting tho final: Black Mint, Glen Fern, Hermes, King Colo, D.C.L. and Stage Girl. Second Hurdles. —First heat: Nanette 4yds, Survivor 8, Remind 9, Tea Bell 11. Second heat: Old Tom 2yds, Gold Du6t 5, Glen Star 9, Kiltie 10. Tho only new acceptors in this race are Remind and Glen Star. Remind is an in and out juniper, but if he jumps will have to be seriously considered. Glen Star fences well, but being a big dog may have difficulty in handling a soft track to which present indications point. Tho final of this event may be contested by Survivor, Remind, Kiltie and Gold, Dust. Stewards’ Handicap.—First heat: Gold Dust 6yds, Hermes 10, Stage Girl 12, Autopay 14, Giggles 17. Second heat: Prince Alert 42, Glen Fern 8, Call Boy 12, Sanette 13, Katinka 15. Third heat: Nanette 6yds, Pomery 12, D.C.L. 12, Black Mint 15, Winalot 18. The aditional starters in this event not apejxiring in the President’s Handicap are Nanotte, Autopay, Prince Alert, Pomery and Winalot. Autopay is still very green, but gallops well; the some applies to the. puppies Pomery and Winalot. Prinoe Alert is a fully matured dog, but not having started prfeviously' may find the handicaps ho has to concede too great. The following, should run well in this event provided they do not incur a penalty in a previous event: —Giggles, Gold Dust, Call Boy, Glen Fern, D.C.L., and Nanette. Over the week-end owners were giving their charges their final work outs. The track was on the heavy side but good times were registered. Mr Norman' Tuck was out early exercising his big string which included Red Star, Pomery, and Parfait Amour. The latter is a nice racy looking bitch full of promise. This team was restricted to short sprints between the tapes, gaining experience. Among the first to work were the stable companion Gold Dust and Goldmine. They were associated over the 150yds course, Gold Dust beating his companion by four lengths in 9 l-ssee. Giggles, Katinka and Winalot were associated over the same course, Giggles standing the other pair up syds. Katinka beat Giggles by a head, with Winalot a length away in 9 4-ssec. Gold Dust, Old Tom and Sanette galloped 150yds, finishing in that order in 9 2-ssec, half alength and a length separating them. Sanette was feeling tho compulsory let up. Old Tom later give a finished exhibition of hurdling, covering the 150yds with three hurdles up in Gold Dust did a similar gallop, taking 12 secs and jumping badly. Goidmino and Parfait Amour were galloped 150yds which they covored in llsecs, tho former finishing two lengthy to the good. Old Tom, Giggles Sanette and Parfait Amour covered the course proper in 9jsocs, Old Tom beating Sanette by two lengths with Giggles and Parfait Amour handy. Glen Fern, Old Tom and Sanette covered the distance in 9 4-ssecs. Glen Fern being two lengths to the good with Sanette a head away third. Giggles, Katinka and Remind covered tho cours in lOjscs, Remind being half a length in front of Giggles with Katinka half a length away. Romance, Parfait Amour and Pomei-y galloped 125yds. Romance finishing with a great rattle to boat Parfait Amour by half a length; no lim/O taken. Remind did a round of tho hurdles alone, jumping well and fast. Glen Fern beat Gold Dust by a head with Survivor tailed off. This dog is heavy in condition and the gallop would materially improve him. Hermes will arrive from Christchurch tomorrow and will no doubt do his final work out after arrival. We hoar this dog is very well at present. The Wellington team is also expected to arrive the same day. This meeting will be tho first one at which points will be taken for the Points Cup. The points will be aggregated to individual dogs till the end of October and should evoko keen competition.
