WOMAN FINED.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 16. Nellie McLaren Laird, a boarding housekeeper, and a former offender, was to-day fined £3O for sly grog selling. The quantity of liquor found was small and purchased apparently as required from an hotel. The excuse was made that it was for boarders, but, unfortunately, a constable haa participated, on several occasions paying for “shouts.”
