WATERSIDE DISPUTE.
Received May 17, 10.5 n.m. CANBERRA, May 17. The Senate rejected the Government’s regulation altering picking-up places, tiro object of which was to deprive volunteer wharf labourers of advantages won during tho last upheaval. Tho Government now is being pressed by militants to introduce a straightout amendment to the Transport Workers’ Act, giving waterside unionists preference, which quite recently Judge Beeby refused.
