CANADIAN BUDGET.
CARRIED IN HOUSE OF COMMONS. OTTAWA, May 15. The Budget was carried in the House of Commons bv 114 votes to 86. During the closing minutes of the debate, Mr Henri Bourassa, Independent, declared that he could not support the Budget because of the British preference previsions. He claimed that Great Britain had traded with Canada on the same basis as she was prepared to trade with other nations, and he thought that Canada should follow the same policy. The Progressive sub-amendment to the Budget was defeated by 117 votes to 19, and the Conservative amendment by 124 votes to 64.
