SOVIET UNION.
TRADE WITH BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) Received May 15, 10.5 a.m. RUGBY. May 14. The President of the Board of Trade, Mr W. Graham, stated in the House of Commons, to-day that the total chargeable value of merchandise imported into this country and registered as consigned from the Soviet Union during the first three months of 1929 amounted to £3,166,000, compared with £4,812,000 during the corresponding period of 1930. The total value of the exports, including re-exports from this country, registered as consigned to the Soviet Union during the former period, amounted to £1,168,000, and during the latter period to £1,195,400. AMBASSADOR AKD WIFE. LONDON, May 14. A Court circular states that the Queen has received the Soviet Ambassador, M. Sokolnikoff, and Madame Sokolnikoff at Buckingham Palace.
