LADIES’ HOCKEY.
The Manawatu Ladies’ Hockey Association competition was continued yesterday afternoon when Rongotea defeated" Collinson and Cunninghame's by two goals to one. In the first spell Rongotea showed combination and had the better of their opponents, who, however, were unlucky in netting only one goal. In the second spell Miss Highfield made a strong bid to improve C. and C.’s position and was within an ace of goaling on numerous occasions. Play was of a spirited nature and the outcome was a fair indication of the capabilities of the two teams on the day’s play. Those who scored for Rongotea were Misses Bayliss and L. Davis. Miss Higlrfieid shot C. and C.’s cnly goal. Messrs W Lundy and W. Wilson acted as referees. The H.5.0.G.-Premera game, scheduled to have been played yesterday, djd not take place.
