PAHIATUA.
(From Our Own Correspondent ) PAHIATUA, Alay 12. The official opening for tho season of the Pahiatua Golf Club’s new links took place on Saturday when there was an attendance of about 60 members and their friends. There were also several members present from tho Eketahuna and Ilainua Clubs. A mixed Canadian foursome was played, tho winners being Miss K. Nelson and Mr W. P. Nelson. Afternoon tea, which was much appreciated by those present was 6erved in tho club house. Rev. B. R. Hames, M.A., Dominion ornniser of tho Alethodist Young Alen’e Bible Class movement, is a visitor to Pahiatua, being tho guest of Rev. W. B. and Mrs Pickering. Aliss Burge, of Pahiatua, is representing the Pahiatua-Bush branch of the New Zealand Women’s Teachers’ Association, at the annual conference in Wellington. Aliss Frances AValsh, of Gisborne, is spending the school holidays with her parents, Air and Aire J. A. AValsh, of Pahiatua. Mr D. R. Richards, of the staff of the Bank of New Zealand, AVcllington, and formerly of Pahiatua, is on a visit hero on annual leave. Aliss AI. Britland, of tho Teachers’ Training College, AVcllington, is spending the school vacation with her parents in Pahiatua.
