f £7OO TO LEVIN BUTCHER. | SEQUEL TO COLLISION. | Special damages amounting to £325 and general damages totalling Svere awarded by His Honour the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, to Stanley Richard Small, butcher, of Kevin, in the Palmerston North Supreme Court this morning, lhe application was brought by plaintiff to assess the damages sustained in a fpotor collision with D. Hamilton, acBountant, of Levin, on July b. ine Bitter admitted his liability. Mr Bpooper appeared for plaintiff and ivir Bngley for defendant, if Plaintiff stated that he had been Bncapacitated as a result of the accifdent until April 1. ,». n r Evidence was given by Dr. Miner, who said that plaintiff’s right leg ha sustained a compound fracture, while the muscles of the thigh and leg a shrunk owing to disuse. This wouk be only temporary, though there would be a permanent hampering of tn movement of the limb. In * months there would be a considerable improvement, but there would n® permanent loss of efficiency of ten pe cent. D. S. Wylie, surgeon, gave corroborative evidence.
