LINTON
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LINTON, May 10. Tho annual general meeting of the Hail Committee was held on Thursday evening. The hnlance-sheet was read and adopted and tho minutes of the last annual meeting read. The revenue for the year was £35 11s 3d, expenditure £25 7s. Tho overdraft at tho bank last year was £32 9s lid, and at present is £22 5s Bd. Tho old committee was re-elected and consisted of the following: Messrs G. 11. Currin (chairman), D. Currin (treasurer) O Batchelar (secretary), Roy Batchelar, M. Rix, M. Moody, J. Nash, T. Lynch, L Wilson and B. Rix. It was decided to purchase half a cord of firewood, also to get estimates for tho cost of extension of supper room. , For tho bazaar which is being organised b-a-the Tennis Club the following amusements have been added to the programme : Ladies’ tug-of-war, aunt sally sticky apple competition, pillow fights Another meeting of the committeo and those helping with tho bazaar- will be hold on Tuesday evening. .... ~ c Mrs Irvino is on a visit to the South Island. Mrs Nash and family ave spending a week in Pohangina. Mr and. Mrs Sheridan and two sons have loft for tho north on a motor tour. A special meeting of the School Committee was held recently to till the vacancies caused by the resignations of Messrs E. W. Crouchor, J. Aitchison, L. Greer and F. Lash. The following were elected- Messrs C. Aldrich (secretary), J. Collis, J. Nash and A. Terry. Mr T. Lynch was re-elected chairman.
