RAILWAY FACILITIES.
LOADING AT KARERE. WARNING DEVICE AT LONGBURN For some time past Messrs J. A. Nash and J. Linklater, M.P.’s, have beeii endeavouring to get suitable loading facilities at the Karere railway station, and a warning device erected at the railway crossing at Longburn. Mr Nash has received the following communication from Hon. W. B. Taverner, the Minister of Railways: ■ “With further reference to your representations to the General Manager of Railways regarding the provision of facilities for loading horses at Karere I have pleasure in informing you that arrangements have been mude for a small yard and race suitable for horses and cattle to be provided at this station. The work will be put an hand as soon as possible. “In regard to the installation of a warning device at the . crossing at Longburn, I desire to say that my enquiries into this matter are not yet complete, but I nsn hopeful of having the matter finalised at an early date. I shall then communicate with you further.”
