RESULT OF LOAN CONVERSION. CANBERRA, April 10. Mr E. G. Theodore, Federal Treasurer, in a statement on the loan position said that of the £60,000,000 conversion loan, maturing next December, only £18,000,000 was now required. This was very gratifying and provided a definite answer to the suggestion that Australia might have to seek overseas help. In this connection, Mr Theodore added: “In addition, we have fully covered the March conversion, which was greatly over-subscribed. Facts like these must help to enhance the credit of Australia.’’
