KIRK-WINDEYER CUP. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 9. Although the Kirk-Windeyer Cup matches were definitely allocated to the Christchurch Club’s links at Shirley this year, it was not until Dr. Sydney Jones and Mr Alex Russell, the captains of the New South Wales and Victorian teams, had played over the course to-day that it was definitely decided that the matches should be played .here.” There has been a prolonged dry spell, and the links are dry in consequence, but otherwise in excellent order.
, Messrs Jones and Russell declared that they were satisfied with the course, and the matches will begin on Monday. i The order of play will be as follows: Monday and Tuesday, Victoria versus New Zealand; Wednesday and Thursday, the winners versus New South Wales.
