THE WEATHER
GENERAL FORECAST. , A depression crossed the Dominion on Tuesday night, but a secondary of cyclone form remained off the West Coast of the South Island and has deepened. Pressure is rather low, also, in the Western Tasman Sea. Moderate to strong easterly winds over Otago: elsewhere moderate to strong and freshening northerlies. Seas rather rough south of Cape Egmont and Castlepoint, moderate thence northwards. Moderate to strong winds between north and west, and rather rough seas in the Eastern Tasman Sea. Weather generally cloudy and unsettled with some rain. Heavy falls in parts of the northern half of the South Island; thunder in places. Temperatures warm at first, but later somewhat cooler.
