KIRK-WINDEYER CUP. WELLINGTON, April 9. Keen interest is being evinced in golfing circles at tho prospects of the New Zealand team winning the KirkWindoyer Cup, which is competed for annually between Australian States and New Zealand. There has arrived m tlie Dominion two teams from Australia—a Victorian team, which reached Bluff from Melbourne on Monday, and a New South Wales team, winch arrived in Wellington from Sydney yesterday morning by the Maunganui. An important change in the sequence of play in Christchurch was announced by the New Zealand Golf Council last evening: It has been decided that New Zealand will play Victoria on April 16 and 17, and the winning team will meet New South Wales, the present holder of the cup. The previous arrangement was that New South Wales and Victoria should meet to decide which team should play Netf Zealand. HAGEN DEFEATS KIRKWOOD. SYDNEY, April 8. Hagen to-day defeated Kirkwood 2 up in an eighteen holes match on the Royal Sydney golf links at Rose Bay. Hagen’s score was 72, while Kirkwood’s was 74. It was their final appearance in Australia.
