OBSTACLE ON BRIDGE.
POLICE ACTION INTENDED. MASTERTON, April 9. It is understood that tlie police intend taking action against four boys who allegedly placed an (obstacle on the Waiohine bridge, near Carterton, cn Saturday night, with the result that a car collided with another immediately in front, and Mr Irvine Hart, of Masterton, sustained a painful and, possibly, serious injury io his face. The boys in question are alleged to have cycled from Carterton to Greytown to attend a picture entertainment, and on their return journey they placed' the remains of an old case on the bridge, with a flag of brown paper fixed to a stick. They waited for cars to arrive to see what the drivers -would do. but eventually they became tired, or waiting, and returned home. A little later a car pulled up promptly when the driver saw the obstruction, and another close behind crashed into it.
