MELBOURNE, April 7. The world’s professional running championships have commenced. Cooper, of Victoria,' is defending his title. McLennan, the New Zealand champion, was unable to owing to gastric trouble. ; A. Robertson (Victoria) won botjj the 76 yards and 130 yards sprints in 7}sec and 12 3 : ssec respectively. Robertson leads with 18 points. Hunter (South Australia) is second with four points. Parker (Queensland) is third with three points. The 100 yards and 220 yards have yet to be decided.
