SAVING IN MAINTENANCE.

ON TAR SEALED ROADS. WORK IN THE KAIRANGA COUNTY. Menzies, tated that the work could cost beween £3OOO and £4OOO. . Cr. Small pointed out that if the ouncil’s own men were employed it rould be cheaper than doing the ly contract. ' Cr. Cheetham agreed that the conn* il seemed to have a lot of money, but tdded that most of it was earmarked. “There is nothing like getting m inrly,” said Cr.
