OBSTRUCTION ON BRIDGE.
OAR PASSENGER INJURED. Per Press Association. CARTERTON, April 7. At midnight on Saturday, Mr A. V. Stevens was returning to Carterton from Greytown in a car. Noticing an obstruction on the Waiohine Bridge, he pulled up suddenly. A following car driven bj Mr H. J. Dudson, or Carterton, with a passenger, Mr I. A. Hart, tho well-known representative footballer, crashed into the back of Mr Stevens’s car. Mr Hart was thrown on to the windscreen and sustained a severely-cut chin and a lacerated tongue, necessitating several stitches. Mr Dudson’s car was badly damaged. The obstruction was _ apparently maliciously placed, as a similar block had been removed earlier in the evening by a bus driver.
