MANAWATU BEAT TERRACE END. Playing on their own courts, on Saturday, . Men’s Singles.—Radford beat Swindell 9 —2; Hale beat Walker, 9—4; Wyoer beat Lovelock, 9 —6; Puklowski lost to Sorenson, 6—;9. ‘ Ladies’ Doubles.—Misses Worrall and Martin ■ beat Misses Allen and Moffatt, 7—3; Misses Weeks and Christian beat Misses Wisclinewsky and Gibbs, 7 —6. ,j Men’s . With reference to the paragraph contributed by our lawn tennis writer stating that “tiro result of the Wednesday competition is wrapt in mystory; apparently the second round has not been completed,” the management committee of the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association advise that full particulars of the state of all competitions were published about a week ago. At the same time it was mentioned that the result of the Wednesday competition would depend upon the match between Bulls and Feilding. This was set down for decision last Wednesday and the final result was that Feilding won the competition. Time permitted of only one round being played owing to wet weather early in the season.
