WELLINGTON.. April 6. Both- good and poor exhibitions of dirt-track racing were witnessed at the Kilbirnie Speedway Stadium oil - Saturday evening.... Beyond doubt- the most .thrilling race was the fin.il of the contest for the golden helmet, which was won by C. Spinks; the Australian rider. . The previous holder of / ihe golden lielmet was R. Blake, also; an Australian.. • "' ■ . • '>, •• The races for the, silver gauntlet were devoid of excitement, the second heat and the final being ' particularly dull. *. It': Itanbv retained tlie trophy. It was the last .occasion on which the silver gauntlet will be competed for this season. The handicap events were keenly contested.
