LINTON RIFLE CLUB

CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES WON BY F. W. COX. The championship series of the Linton Rifle Club were , concluded last week; and, as was expected, F. AV. Cox won the trophy, again topping the score and increasing his lead on' tho runner-up, H. Barlow, to the fine total of 17 points. B. G. Salmons was nine points further down in third place. A pleasing feature of the season lias been the good shooting of two young “shots” in Riflemen H. G. Byers and K. Ross, who have both annexed a fnir share of tho handicap trophies. Following are the scores for the final week.

Championship points scored were as follow:—F. W. Cox 537, H. Barlow 520, B. G. Salmons 511, K. Ross 504, C. J. Page 502, F. R. Lewis 499, H. G. Byers 495, R. W. Ramsay 488,. K. Lumsden' 473. Cup competitions resulted:—Pickering Cup: F. W. Cox 2R6, H. Barlow 260, R. W. Ramsay 257.- J. D. Smith Cup: F. W. Cox 271, H. G. Byers 263, H. Barlow 260. Greer Cup (handicap): H. G. Byers 543, K. Ross 539. Rose Bowl (handicap): H. G. Byers 643, K. Ross 539. Messrs Ramsay and Campbell's trophies were won as follow:—Short range: K. Ross 272; runner-up, K. Lumsden 267. Long range: H. G. Byers 280; runner-up, C. J. Page 273. Four fortnightly spoons were fired for during the season, the following being the results:—First spopn: K. Ross 183 ; .runner-up, K. Lumsden 181. Second spoon: F. "W. Cox 177; runnerup, K. Ross 174. Third spoon: H. G. Byers 188; runner-up. B. G. Salmons 184. Fourth -spoon: H. G. Byers 183; runner-up, O. J. Page 182.
