MANY PATIENTS.
BUSY TIME FOB HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) AUCKLAND, April 4. The number of patients occupying beds in the Auckland Hospital. to-day was 685. The past week has been a-busy one with the total often in the vicinity of 700, while the peak was reached on Saturday last with 705 patients occupying beds. Some cronic cases will be removed 1 to the infirmary at Epsom to relieve the congestion, but there the space is limited. The question of providing increased accommodation at the infirmary will .be considered by the Hospital Board at a special meeting next week. The question of accommodation, is always a serious one with a big hospital, said Dr. Maguire,; the. medical superintendent' of the Auckland . Hospital. “There is always a large, waiting list and I think we would still be crowded if we had another 400 beds.” '
