SALARY CLAIM.
UNITED ,PARTY ORGANISER. AUCKLAND, April 3. There was no appearance of either party in the Magistrate’s Court to-day when a claim by Harold Arthur Charles Davy, formerly organiser for the United Political Party. in tho Auckland district, was set down for hearing. The claim was for £4O, comprising wages, which were alleged to be due to plaintiff for his work as organiser. Defendants wore J. Trevithick, T. P. Haplin, H. J. Nelmes, A. E. Buckley, J. A. Woodall, and F. H. Burbush, all of Auckland, and Joseph Rea, of Papakura. Plaintiff’s claim stated that, at the request of defendants, he had rendered his services as organiser of tho Auckland division of the United New Ze;iland Political Organisation at an agreed salary of £5 a week, and that there was due and owing to plaintiff £4O, comprising £ls arrears of salary on December 6, 1929. and five weeks’ salary to January 10, 1930, amounting to £25. The claim was filed by Messrs Morison, Spr.att, and Morison, solicitors, of Wellington, and prior to tho hearing pf the case, which had been adjourned from last month, Mr Keegan, solicitor, of Auckland, reached an agreement with defendants for payment of the full amount. The case was struck out by Mr McKean, S.M., in the court when there was no • appearance of the parties.
