BIG DEFICIT.
BRITAIN’S FINANCIAL YEAR. LONDON, April 1. The national financial year ended last night with a deficit of £14,523,000, which compares with a surplus of £18,394,000 in the previous year. The revenue amounted to £734,189,000, which is £23,915,000 below that of last year, also £12,111,000 less than Mr Winston Churchill’s revised estimate of April last. The expenditure amounted to £748,712,000, or £9,002.000 more than last year, and £6,748,000 above the Budget estimate.
