The secretary of the Palmerston North Fire Brigade acknoweldges receipt of a letter from Ford' Motors (Manawatu), Ltd., expressing appreciation of the wonderful work accomplished in extinguishing the blaze at their premises on March 6. “Fighting an uphill battle, your men never let up and we, whose interests were at stake, feel everlastingly grateful for the success they achieved in the face of heavy odds,” states the manager of the company. “To those of us who saw the spectacle it seems almost miraculous that your brigadesmen were able to save the workshop and main garage.” A cheque closed, which has been devoted to the recreation fund.. The C. M. Ross Co., Ltd., are again to the fore with outstanding values in tweed coats.
