FEILDING

GOLF SEASON OPENED. (Special to “Standard.”) FEILDING, March 24. The Feilding Golf Club opened its season on Saturday when a mixed foursome was played. The weather conditions were perfect and some 50 players took part in the game. The best card returned was that of W. E. Carthew and Miss K. Carthew, a net 62. Mrs Collinson, of Palmerston North, with W. Siefert returned a net 63, while Miss Redwood with A. H. Atkinson returned a 64. The winning card was one over bogey for the course. The closely cut fairways and keen putting greens favoured the players who found the competition decidedly entertaining. With the season now opened a commencement will shortly be made with the programme. MOTORS IN COLLISION. Tho intersection of Denbigh Street and Kimbolton Road was the scene of a motor collision yesterday afternoon, the motorists concerned being Mr Wilson Hopping, of Giesen’s Road, and Mr J. M. Wratt, of Denbigh Street. Mr aing was proceeding up Kimbolton and Mr Wratt was turning into Denbigh Street from Kimbolton when the collision occurred. None of the occupants of the car was hurt, but the vehicles were extensively damaged.
