The points awarded will not be divulged until Wednesday night, when the second test will be held, hut the judge announced the order in which he had placed the competitors to-night, as follow : Oamaru Alunicipal 1 Hastings Citizens 2 Christchurch Municipal 3 Invercargill Civic 4 Carterton Municipal 5 Alosgiel Municipal 6 Dunedin City I ram ways ... 7 The judge said that he had difficulty in selecting the band to be placed first. HIGHLAND PIPE BANDS. Over tho week-end, the annual conference of the Highland Pipe Bands’ Association was held. Air Archibald AlcLachlan, of Christchurch, was elected president and Air AlcKenzie Forbes, of Wanganui, vice-president. It was resolved that in future a piping judge should not he enclosed in a tent, and that points in the quickstep he 100 for drill and 100 for music. A motion that the Pipe Bands’ Association secede from the Piping and Dancing Association was negatived by 30 votes to 1.
