HIGHLAND PIPE BANDS. Over tho week-end, the annual conference of the Highland Pipe Bands’ Association was held. Air Archibald AlcLachlan, of Christchurch, was elected president and Air AlcKenzie Forbes, of Wanganui, vice-president. It was resolved that in future a piping judge should not he enclosed in a tent, and that points in the quickstep he 100 for drill and 100 for music. A motion that the Pipe Bands’ Association secede from the Piping and Dancing Association was negatived by 30 votes to 1.
