AUCKLAND CASE.
GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER. Per Press -Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 6, The trial of George Caffery on a charge of murder was continued in the Supreme Court to-day and His Honour Mr Justice Smith summed tip to-night. The. jury retired at 8.30 p-m. and, after a retirement of a little longer than two hours the jury returned a verdict of guilty of manslaughter, with a etrong recommendation to mercy, because the jury believed that the full guilt was not Caffery’s. Sentence will be pronounced on Friday morning.
