MATCHES AT LEVIN. A and B hockey teams from Palmerston North journeyed to Levin, yesterday, and met elevens iielded_ by the Horowhenua Hockey Association. The grounds were in excellent order and the standard of play was high. The B teams played as a curtain raiser, Manawatu being beaten by 3 goals to 2, K. Burne and Smith scoring for tho visitors. Horowhenua had the territorial advantage throughout the game, the team being strengthened bv two A representatives to fill vacancies. fn the A grad© match, the score was one all- Manawatu played an excellent game against a good combination and acquitted themselves very well with the draw. . As a result of the game, Mr J. V. Kyle, Manawatu selector, has chosen two Horowhenua men to play for Manawatu against Wanganui for the Winter Shield next week.

The visiting players were given a most cordial reception by the Horowhenua Association and the trip was thoroughly enjoyed. NORDEN CUP MATCH.

The Dahnevirke men’s hockey representatives maintained their unbeaten record to-day by successfully defending Wairarapa’s challenge for the Norden Cup by 3 goals to 1. The scorers for Dannevirke were J. Smith, H. Pickard and AV. Mclntosh, and for tho losers S. Gallon.
