HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The Palmerston North Horticultural Society intend holding their bulb show in the Empire Hall on September 14. There are quite a number of interesting classes open to both the professional and the amateur. The Farmers’ Cup (amateur) for a display of twelve narcissus is a special attraction and should draw a large number of entries. A novice class, a domestic class (amateur), a vegetable class (amateur) and a children's decorative (under 14) with trophies and monetary prizes are a few of the classes deserving of mention. Luncheon and afternoon tea will be obtainable at the hall at a nominal charge. The committee wish to make this their best show to date and are sparing no pains to realise this ambition; so, all horticultural enthusiasts please remember the date and make a point of being present. Intending exhibitors are requested to make their entries as early as possible. Entrance forms and paiticulars for the Wallace Cup competition for private property garden planning and beautifying may be had on application to any of the local florists or from the secretary, box 70, Palmerston North.
