AORANGI.
SOCIAL AND DANCE. (From Our Own Correspondent^ AORANGI, Aug. 27. A well attended social and dance took place on Friday night last in Mr Durie’6 hall at Aorangi and proved a most enjoyable function, the proceeds going to swell the funds for the proposed Anglican Sunday school for this district. Excellent music was supplied by Mrs L. C. Jarrett and extras were contributed by Mrs and Miss Cummings, Mrs Fletcher and Mr T. Wilson. The decorations were artistically carried out in blue and gold with native foliage, and several items during the evening were much appreciated, being as follow: Quartette, Messrs Thompson, Drew, N. C. Harding and Kendall, and solos by Miss Hughs. A competition waltz was won by Miss Beeman and Mr Samp-' son, and a box of chocolates by Mr T. W. Wealleans. A dainty supper was supplied by the ladies.
