FIREMAN’S DEATH.
Per Press Association. ■ NAPIER, Aug. 23. E. Holmes, a fireman aged 40, dropped dead this morning while on duty in the stokehold of the Waimea. The steamer was en route to Napier from Gisborne at the time. Deceased was a married man resident at Wellington.
