After the minor representative game, Bulls and Athletic seniors took the neld, both teams being up to full strength. Athletic had soundly defeated Bulls at Marton a few weeks ago, and a repetition was expected here. However, .the uncertainty of football was again exemplified, for thero was practically only one team in it after tho first twenty minutes, and in tho second spell Bulls pluyod all over tho leaders of tno competition, inflicting a crushing defeat by 17 points to 5. Bulls forwards proved too solid for their opponents, and their hookers, Campbell and Westwood, secured the ball from practically every scrum, giving their rearguard many opportunities, which they mado the most uso of. Ellery, Tohu and Brock were outstanding ,• forwards in the loose, and Rogers, Johnson and D. Cameron did great work in tho back division, though ail played well. Greenwood was tho beet of the visitors’ forwards, and their backs, unable to get possession of the leather, wero all at sea, while Smith, at full-back, gave them many anxious moments by speculating. On tho play, Athletic were outclassed, and if Bulls retain their form they should not meet with defeat again this season.

Play had not been long in progress before Athletic backs swept down with a bueatiful passing rush, Greenwood scoring first blood, and Ledingham adding the extra points. Bulls retaliated, and D. Cameron show'ed a clean pair of heels to the visitors. Ellery then got across, and, Cameron adding tho major points, Bulls led, B—s at half-time.

Changed round, Bulls continued to press. Timmins hoisted the flags with a magnificent penalty goal; Ellery .scored again; and Rogers also got over, making the final scores: Bulls 17, Athletic 5. Rev. P. 11. Leonard refereed. > GENERAL.

There wa6 a large attendance at tho Glynoath School euchre party and danco, held in tho Town Hall supper room on Friday evening. Mrs Coe won the lady’s prizo at euchre and Mr D. Bromley tho gentleman’s prize. Consolation awards went to Messrs. W. McDonell and J. Timmins. The rest of the evening was taken up with songs and dancing, and the school funds will benefit considerably by the successful function.

Mr F. G. Hart, who was at one time a member of the staff of the Bank of New Zealand here, and whose headquarters aro now at Napier, was a visitor to Bulls over the week-end.
