(From Our Own Correspondent.) PERSONAL. * WOODVILLE. July 29. The manv friends of Mr G. W. V ardrop will bo pleased to learn that he is progressing favourably after an operation. Mrs J. S. Armistead, of Hopelands, leaves to-day on an extended holiday to Australia and India. GUN CLUB. The Woodville Gun Club held its last shoot for the season on Saturday afternoon when the club championship and Woodville county championship were decided. Sixteen shooters competed, but the standard of shooting was poor throughout both matches, the winner being the only man to show any form. Mr T. Kearins turned out to be the winner of each event, and incidentally has now won the threo cups competed for by the club. The best scores in each match were as follow : Club championship, 17 birds, 16 yards rise.—T. Kearins 16, W. A. Thomson 14, iJ. Donald 14. R. Whitford 12, B. K. ThornIson 12, R. G. Smith 10.
