MOTORING MISHAPS
ACCIDENTS AT DANNEVIRKE. Suffering from severe head injuries, Garth Francis Edward Owen Durrant, a young man, was admitted to hospital at Dannevirke on Sunday night following a serious accident. The motor cycle which he was riding collided with a sedan car driven by Miss Beatrice Cowper, and he was badly hurt, his condition later being critical. Mrs IC. Matheson, well-known in Weber, met with an accident on Saturday afternoon while on her homeward way from Dannevirke. The car she was driving got out of control at an awkward corner on the Weber Road and went over the bank. Mrs Matheson was fortunate in escaping with a broken arm.
