SEWERAGE LOAN.
£7,000 RAISED AT £5 Bs. The Borough Council has raised at the interest rate of £5 8s per centum, free of brokerage charges the sum ot £7,000, being the glance of the original sewerage loan ot s.ib,UtlU authorised by the ratepayers. Hie Mayor, Mr A. J. Graham .informed a “Standard” reporter this morning that this was considered extremely satisfactory in view ot the fact that other local bodies have been unable to obtain money at under £5 10s per cent. Of the original £16,000, no less than £9,000 has already been raised at £o 10s per cent and the present £7,(JUU represents the balance. The money has been obtained in one sum from a Christchurch investor.
