new national broadcasting service in Australia will be accepted by the Federal Government shortly, according to tho P.M.G. (Mr Gibson). Mr Gibson said that an advisory committee had carefully considered the programmes tendered, and had prepared a report, which would bo considered by the Federal Cabinet early. Successful tenderers would be required to begin supplying programmes from July 17. when 2FC Sydney would be taken over by the Government. Control of 2BL Sydney and 3LO Melbourne, would be exorcised by tho Government from July 22. Arrangements had almost been completed, Mr Gibson added, for purchasing the studios and equipment of the stations concerned in. the now scheme.
