LINTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) UNTON, June 4.
On Friday evening a concert and dance were held in the Linton Hall in aid of the church funds. A very enjoyable programme was provided by a concert party brought out from Palmerston North by Rev. Mr Wiltshire. The items were as follow: —Mr McLachlan (pianoforte solo); Mrs Findlay (vocal soles); Mrs McLachlan (vocal solos); Master and Miss Whelan (recitation and sketches); Mr Davidson (monologue and recitation); Mr and Mrs Davidson (story without words); Mr Tabor (humorous songs); Master R. Holmes (recitations); Mr and Mrs Tabor (a burlesque); Rev. Mr Wiltshire (songs). The accomnanist for the evening was Mr McLachlan. The music for the danco was supplied by Mrs Sharp, Miss Sifcimons, Mr J. L. Nash and Mrs Merriman, and the duties of M.C. were most efficiently carried out by Mr Jos. Batchelar. A Hall Committee meeting was held on June 3rd, Mr H. Currin presiding oyer Messrs O. Batchelar, R. Batchelar, M. Rix, T. Lynch and J. L. Nash. It was decided to have the piano renovated and to call a working bee for Thursday evening to make forms, etc. Little Connie Heap, who underwent an operation for appendicitis a week ago, is progressing satisfactorily.
